Welcome to the culture club. It’s nearly impossible to avoid the arts scene in the Funk Zone. Galleries and street performers are around every corner. For a more traditional setting, you’ll be just steps away from the special exhibitions of the Museum of Contemporary Art or a visit to the Santa Barbara Art Foundry. Take the kids to the Santa Barbara Youth Interactive + Funk Zone Shop. You can also take a food and photo tour of the area with Eat This, Shoot That. Or head south a few blocks for one of the multiple Segway outings to see all the area has to offer. Saddle up with a sommelier. The Funk Zone is home to nearly 20 different wine tasting rooms, with many of them part of Santa Barbara’s Urban Wine Trail. Wine not your thing? Not a problem here. This neighborhood is also home to some award-winning microbreweries and Cutler’s Artisan Spirits, a small-scale craft distillery. All are within walking distance of one another, though you might want to hail one the area’s many popular pedicabs for the trip back to your vacation rental when you finally call it a day.
