Head to the base of the mountain ~ To make your home base

You may come to Vail  to catch a lift up to the  expansive ski terrain and adrenaline-inducing back bowls, but ultimately you’ll choose to purchase here because it’s so much more than just a getaway for powder enthusiasts. The bustling nightlife and festival scene, breathtaking summer beauty, and high-end shopping and art galleries make good on Vail’s promise to entertain you all year round.

East Vail - A popular family-friendly destination for those looking to enjoy easy access to hiking trails, parks, and playgrounds, East Vail is a perfect first-stop intro to the Valley after descending from Vail Pass. Home to the Vail Racquet Club and just a short bus ride away from ski access, East Vail is a hit with guests making the trek over the pass from the Denver area. Vail Village/Lionshead - Vail Village and Lionshead each have their own distinct character, but are really considered to be two parts of a singular heart of Vail. Cascade Village - Nestled between the Village and West Vail, the Cascade area has its own ski lift - Chairlift 20, to be precise - that leaves straight from the Village itself. With frequent, convenient bus service leaving from this area directly to Lionshead, Cascade Village is a great place to hide away from the hustle and bustle of the Village without losing the feeling of easy access to those “basic” creature comforts- like fine dining and resort-style living.

West Vail - West of the Village you'll find a wonderful mix of single-family homes and resort-like condominium complexes along with the only two real grocery stores in Vail. While West Vail is actually a bit closer to the Village than East Vail, it feels a little more like a regular town than a European mountain resort. Here you’ll find the desirable residential communities of Matterhorn and Intermountain along North Frontage Road, while the equally attractive neighborhoods of Sandstone and Chamonix reside on South Frontage Road. Bachelor Gulch - Nestled in the valley between Beaver Creek and Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch connects the whole area together. Perhaps the most popular thing to do in this neighborhood is pass the time enjoying the incredible views or grabbing a bite or a drink at the signature 5-star Ritz-Carlton. Not just a fantastic wedding venue, the Ritz also hosts a fantastic spa and several amazing restaurants.But the real attraction to Bachelor Gulch for a homeowner wishing to rent their vacation home, is the plethora of ski-in, ski-out  homes in the area. Arrowhead Village - Amenities abound in this upscale community that sits furthest to the west of the Beaver Creek/Vail area. But the luxuries don’t stop there, as you also enjoy unrestricted access to world-class fishing, expert hiking and biking. Arrowhead even offers its own lift to Beaver Creek terrain and a quaint village, with complimentary shuttle transportation offered to many of the homes close by. Ideal for families who value their privacy and don’t want to hassle with driving to and from Beaver Creek to ski, but still want to be close to all the action.
