Breckenridge Spring Events 2019

Memorial Day Skiing and So Much More

The biggest news may be that Breckenridge has extended its season to Memorial Day (May 27), but there are plenty of events going on between now and then that are just as exciting. Check out the calendar below to see what spring events you may want to head into the mountains for.

Breck Pride

April 3-7

Head to Breckenridge between Wednesday, April 3, and Sunday, April 7, for all kinds of LGBT celebrations, including daily apres ski parties, guided mountain tours, brunches, and more. Click here to see a full schedule of this year's events. (Photo courtesy of gobreck.com).

The Spring Beer Festival

Saturday, April 6

The Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival begins at noon on Saturday, April 6, 2019, and officially runs until 5pm. In that time, more than 25 breweries will set up shop at Main Street Station and the Village at Breckenridge off Park Ave, where you can do tastings and meet the brewers. This year, live music will include 2 bands, billed as a "battle between the 80s and the 90s." An unlimited tasting ticket is $35, while VIP tickets are $75. Learn more about the festival here. Also be sure to check out our article on the 10 Best Breweries in Breckenridge (and their happy hour specials.)

The Breckenridge Imperial Challenge

April 13, 2019

Part triathlon, part party, and part official celebration of the spring season, The Breck Imperial Challenge includes a 6-mile bike ride, then a climb (with whatever gear you want) of 2,500 feet or 3,000 feet (depending which class you're in) to the top of Breck. Register for the event and learn more here.

The Breck Plunge

April 21

The Plunge is especially exciting this year, as it marks the official beginning of the extended season. Head to the base of Peak 8 for live music, pond skimming, costume skiing, and more. Only this year, you won't have to head home for the season once the plunge is over -- you've still got more than a month left to ski Breck's famous high-altitude runs and bowls.

Extended Season

April 21-May 27

For about a month after the plunge, Breck will keep its lifts running on Peak 8 and Peak 7. Breck has a famously high elevation (just under 13,000 feet at the top of the Imperial Bowl), so it's expecting snow on all of this terrain. Expect most open terrain to be intermediate and advanced runs accessed by the Independence SuperChair, Imperial Express SuperChair, and the TBar Lift. Even more exciting? Breck is planning to stay open until Memorial Day, conditions permitting, every year form here on out.

There's plenty of time left
