Deer Valley East Village is an entire resort base being built from the ground up on the Jordanelle side of the mountain, developed by Extell Development Company as the anchor of the resort's terrain expansion.

When it is finished, it will hold 1,700 homes and 800 hotel rooms, with shops, restaurants, an ice rink and what the resort calls the largest ski beach in North America, the wide sunny apron of snow where the village meets the slopes. It is the reason the whole expansion happened where it did.

East Village anchors Expanded Excellence, Deer Valley's $500 million-plus expansion and the largest in North America. It adds 3,700 acres of new terrain and 17 new lifts, one of them among the largest gondolas in U.S. ski history, and brings the mountain to 5,726 acres at completion. For all that scale, the expansion keeps Deer Valley's grooming, service, and skiers-only calm at its center.

From the base, the East Village Express, a ten-passenger gondola and one of the largest in U.S. ski history, runs nearly three miles up to Park Peak in about 15 minutes, with heated cabins that carry you straight into the expanded terrain. It means you can arrive on a powder morning and be on the snow quickly.

Deer Valley Ski Resort wanted East Village to be somewhere you look forward to spending time off the snow, not only a place to click out of your bindings and leave. The expansion includes over 250,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, an ice-skating rink, and an oversized ski beach at the heart of it all. The East Village Lodge, including a ski school, equipment rentals, and a dining hall, is scheduled to be completed for the 2027/28 season.

What the portal unlocks is the new half of Deer Valley. From the top of the East Village Express, you're into the expanded terrain around Park Peak and Hail Peak, the wide bowls and long intermediate runs the resort added when it roughly doubled in size.

If you stay on this side of Deer Valley, you'll be closer to the newest, quietest terrain on the mountain, and onto fresh corduroy first thing in the morning.

The terrain, East Village Express gondola, and 1,200-space parking are all open. The full East Village Lodge and most of the retail and residences are still being built, and scheduled to be completed by 2028. You can absolutely ski and stay here now.
