Jackson Hole 4th of July Agenda 2017 - InvitedHome
A special celebration ~ That can last all summer long
Ready for a full day of action-packed activities? Then perhaps you’re ready for the 4th of July in Jackson Hole. From historic reenactments and lively rodeos to delicious outdoor dining in between - if it involves celebrating our nation’s independence in the great outdoors, the folks in Jackson Hole most certainly have you covered with unforgettable activities throughout the day. Don’t believe us? Just take a quick look at the anticipated agenda for this year.
7:00am - Rise and shine! The day starts bright and early here in Jackson, Wyoming, so begin your 4th of July celebration with enough hearty fuel for the day. Just off the town square, the annual pancake breakfast is held by the local Lions Club leading right up to the parade. Bring the kids - and a healthy appetite.
10:00am - Once you’ve been properly fed, it’s time to take to the streets of Jackson and catch the Chamber of Commerce’s classic 4th of July parade. The route begins at the Teton County Fairgrounds, but those “in the know” lay claim to a perfect spot in Town Square. After all, that’s where the judging of the parade entries, floats and classic cars will take place. We recommend getting there as early as you can.
6:00pm - Relax. You are in no danger whatsoever. That noise you hear is just a lively reenactment of frontier justice on the Jackson Town Square. The Town Square Shootout, as it is known, is the longest continuously running gunfight show in the country. And we’ll let you in on a little secret: Should you not be able to make it on the Fourth, they actually take place every summer evening - except on Sundays. Pass it along.
8:00pm - Come 8 O’clock, you’ll want to head back to the Teton County Fairgrounds, as there you’ll find an authentic 4th of July rodeo. Put on by the historic Jackson Hole Rodeo company and fun for the whole family, you’ll experience western culture up close and personal. Buy a cowboy hat ahead of time, so you can be sure to look the part.
10:00pm - It’s finally time for the main event - the fireworks! You’ll have two displays from which to choose: Snow King Mountain in the town of Jackson, or at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. And should you still be feeling ambitious after an undoubtedly busy 4th of July in Jackson Hole, you can even try to catch both.
