We hope you like horses. Actually, you better like horses. That’s because this 2,500 square foot guesthouse is right on an active ranch. Horses happily roam free around this property. But worry not, they’re as friendly as can be.

So why present a guesthouse as an ideal vacation rental all its own? Let us count the ways. While just a short distance from the property’s main house, it features 4 bedrooms, three with ensuite baths, and spacious common areas that are just overflowing with rustic charm. With comfortable seating seemingly everywhere, the large bright living room is a great place to recap the day’s events with the whole family. Maybe catch a flick on the flatscreen TV while you do. You may have to occasionally nudge the kids though, as they will be gazing at the horses grazing just outside your giant windows. The second living room is cozy to say the least. Adjacent to the kitchen, it features its own flatscreen that sits just above a roaring gas fireplace. Now does that sound like a traditional guesthouse to you?

We think this is the ideal place for active families to stay. You know, when all you want are some comfy beds at the end of an exhaustingly fun day. There’s a small kitchen with a microwave and toaster oven if you need it. But we know you probably won’t. That’s because you may pick up a snack down at Padaro Beach, which is just about 2 miles away. Or maybe you’ll lunch at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club. That’s just a short drive away too. And because your family can’t sit still, we’re sure you’ll grab a meal downtown, just to keep the activity going as long as possible. And anything is possible when you stay at Toro Canyon Guesthouse.

Santa Barbara Travel Guide
December 11, 2016 The city calls itself the American Riviera, and if you travel to Santa Barbara you'll see why: This central coast city, which sits on an idyllic stretch of coastline and is sheltered by the foothills of the Santa Ynez mountains, has a ...Mediterranean-like climate and a civility that feels downright European. In fact, it once was European: the Spanish settled the city in the 1600s, and the Mission Santa Barbara is still one of the city's most treasured landmarks. Given the city's sophisticated charm—and high prices—many celebrities have made a Santa Barbara visit over the years, from Charlie Chaplin, who built a hotel, to Oprah Winfrey, who has a house nearby.
