It's time to bask (or Basque) in the glow...

Let's get grilling, and start enjoying the great outdoors. From anywhere on this property.

The patio technically seats 6. We have a feeling you can fit a few more.

A little privacy during your hot tub soak always helps.

Don't break a sweat on this vacation. But, in case you want to...

If your guests want to rest inside, you can abide...

This modern kitchen takes you back to another time at dinner time.

Throw a few logs on the fire, and just sit back and enjoy the ambiance of the sunken living room.

Perfect seating for 8, and just off the kitchen.

Huge stove, cool fireplace, and plenty of windows to remind you where you are: paradise.

Don't forget the lofted media room. This is how lounging is done.

When you need to catch some telly.

The king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom become secondary once you enter the master.

Curl up with a good book, because the master has a fireplace - and a view.

Yes, of course, you have a balcony as well. But check out that stone work!

How about dual sinks in your master bath? You can then choose a soak or a shower...

I mean, come on.

Come on. A jetted tub in the master? Somehow we think relaxation will be on the agenda.

How do you like this view? We thought so.

Even the lounge chairs know you need to kick back.

There is nothing more underrated than a cozy fireplace.

Or a guest bedroom with a king and en-suite bath.

Details, details, details. They even extend to the guest en-suite bathroom.

Every guestroom is fit for royalty, this room has a queen bed.

Old meets new.

Don't forget the kids' comfort!

A stay here is just so cool (or hot), whatever you choose.

Even the little office area is inspiring. Does your regular office have a balcony? Didn't think so...

Say hello to your birch neighbors. They love it here as well.

When you gotta do laundry, you may as well have plenty of space.

Just a half bath on the main level, for optimal convenience.

It's all about the entrance.

When you're leaning toward privacy, head to the hillside.

I guess everything looks okay.

Should we ski those things tomorrow? Yeah, I think so...

The architecture is just so inviting. And brilliantly Basque.

Tucked away on a remote Telluride hillside lies a beautiful, Basque-influenced home that will greatly influence your family’s views on what an ideal vacation can be. As part of the prestigious Aldasoro Ranch community, this 4-bedroom, 4.5 bath retreat may be a little off the beaten path in Telluride. But guests tend to agree that it is definitely on point when it comes to extra amenities and luxuries.

And just what are those extras, you ask? Let’s begin by telling you of the amazing, sweeping views. Because the home is situated on the side of a hill about a 10-minute drive from both Mountain Village and The Town, nature is the star of the show as you rest leisurely on any of your patios or decks. But if sweeping views of the ski slopes and bright white birches isn’t your thing, there’s plenty of ways to relax from within. That notion quickly becomes apparent when you stumble upon your very own spa, complete with a jetted soaking tub and coal-fired sauna to help you waste the day away after a long day on the trails. Those looking to combine the best of both these luxuries should look no further than the outdoor hot tub, nestled quietly in a backyard nook.

For more communal activities, Villa Mendia has you covered there too. The decorative dining room can comfortably seat eight, while the ornate grand room just below can probably fit eight more. And that’s not counting those members of your crew that are watching a flick in the media room, catching up on some work in the office, or huddled by one of the fireplaces. Speaking of which, you have one in your spacious kitchen too. Kids will just love making s’mores after a chilly day on the slopes. Just make sure they save room during dinner, because your modern cooking appliances in the old world feeling kitchen will inspire you to make some of your best meals to date. Of course, all these recreational activities will eventually lead to the need of a good night’s sleep. And with beds of all shapes and sizes spread across the estate in individually rustic rooms with a view, your view of a Telluride vacation will take on a whole meaning. And by that, we mean perfection.

The house was gorgeous- the setting was out of this world. Easily two or three families could be there and not be on top of each other. We were a single family and really kept ourselves to a portion of the house, it was so big. It had everything we needed- sleds for kids, plenty of towels, wifi which worked well.

Magnificent!

This magnificent house perched on a hillside is truly extraordinary! Every room is beautifully appointed and fully stocked with everything you might need for your stay. The rooms are all spacious with high ceilings and there are many cozy places to cuddle up with a book and a glass of wine. There is ample space for simply hanging out with your family or fellow travelers and a gorgeous kitchen with every gadget you can imagine. The beds are really comfortable and the towels are all plush and luxurious. The surroundings are incredible, with views from every window, and glimpses of elk and other wildlife all around. The location was perfect, just minutes from town and the ski village. We've stayed in many nice places, but this one blew our socks off!

Telluride: Southwestern Colorado's Modern Playground
November 11, 2016 Many resorts brag about how their town is a state of mind, not a place; Telluride seems to have taken that concept to heart. By want of its location, it really couldn’t be any other way. It’s certainly one of the most remote among ...Colorado’s major ski resorts, located in the state’s southwestern corner 65 miles from Montrose, the nearest major airport with commercial service (although limited flights into Telluride’s own lofty airstrip will resume this winter). It’s well over 300 miles from Denver. The town itself is located in a box canyon, a narrow cul-de-sac with a flat valley floor and thousand-foot high walls on three sides. Bridal Veil Falls – a scenic attraction in summer and one of the nation’s most difficult multi-pitch ice climbs in winter – is at the head of the valley. Free cross-country ski trails traverse the valley floor, making a pleasant alternative to downhill skiing for an afternoon. (see less)

Teleski Presents Proposed Development Plan
November 20, 2016 Family-friendly mountain bike trails, an aerial adventure park and canopy tours are at the top of the list for projects planned at the Telluride Ski Resort in the coming years. These additions were just some of what was highlighted in the proposed ...master development plan that was presented by Jeff Proteau, vice president of mountain operations for the resort, and CEO Bill Jensen at Wednesday’s San Miguel County Commission meeting. The last time Telski released a master development plan was in 1999. Proteau said increasing summer offerings was high on the list of improvements. He pointed out the lack of mountain bike trails for different skill levels and said the plan would address that need. “A goal is to provide trails that are family oriented. We don’t really have any beginner trails up there,” he said. New trails also would be constructed as “flow trails” — a term used for trails constructed specifically for mountain biking, with added features that provide variety to the trail.
