Everyone will love the open concept living space.

On the rare occasion of a rainy day, the living room has plenty of space for TV or a movie.

The whole family can sit down to dinner in the separate dining nook.

There's seating for 6-8 here, depending on how cozy you feel like getting.

Master Bedroom 1 is located on the first floor, separated from the rest of the bedrooms.

The room is bright and airy.

The ensuite bathroom for the master has a large walk in shower and a dual sink vanity.

The washer/dryer is located in the powder room, but can be hidden behind a curtain in the event of guests.

Head upstairs to the rest of the bedrooms.

The upper level also has an extra living space with TV, perfect for when the kids and parents need a little break from each other.

This area is right at the top of the stairs, adjacent to the bunk bedroom.

There's also a small office area, but we highly suggest you steer clear and avoid all work.

The outdoor balcony area is the perfect place for coffee, or even better, a cocktail.

The grill is located in the backyard area, right off the screened porch.

Welcome to your home away from home.

The community pool has some shady spots to sit when it's too sunny.

It's a bit of a walk to the beach, but a beautiful one!

When it comes to WaterSound living, the best things in life are three. As in this charming, beautifully designed, 3-bedroom home situated along the south side of Highway 30A that will welcome your family with open arms. And open air. This is what the diversity of the Emerald Coast is all about. Dropping anchor in your quiet and quaint neighborhood. Walking amongst the lush vegetation that rests proudly in the state park along the trails and boardwalks. Experiencing firsthand the overwhelming, yet relaxing, sense of community (and a gated one at that) that bustles all around you...and having a gorgeous place to retreat to once your day is done. That’s the essence of a stay at Captain's Cottage. So let’s get going.

Designed by the renowned team at Dungan and Nequette Architects, you know you’re in for a treat. Custom interior finishes are everywhere you look. White oak wood floors, extensive millwork, hotel-like bathrooms, granite countertops, and professional Viking kitchen appliances abound inside. And will be waiting for you whether you’re returning from the town, the beach, your porch, your balcony, or the community’s private pool that includes a communal barbecue facilities and large outdoor fireplace. Whenever the kids run out of marshmallows of course.

You’ve also got your own little yard if you need to blow off some steam close to home. A good soak in the tub certainly won’t hurt either. Then you’ll be refreshed to cook a magnificent meal. Enjoy it casually at the rustic kitchen table or slide into the more formal booth in the dining area. It doesn’t matter on vacation. And when it’s time to lay rest for the evening, you can head to your master on the first floor. The kids will scurry up to their bunk beds, while any other guests can retreat to the queen in the third bedroom. And with four total bathrooms, everyone can get ready for bed at the same time. And then you’ll all be properly rested and ready for whatever the next day has in store. Which is usually the outdoors right outside your door.

Comfortable and luxurious

I am always nervous renting on line, but this time I hit it out of the park! This house was perfect for our week at the beach. It looks just like the pictures. Every finish out is beautiful, like staying in a model home. The management people we dealt with couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and we didn't have a single problem during our stay. The pool is lovely, the beach is a short bike ride away --3-5 minutes -- and feels like a private beach. The only thing we missed was reliable internet, but the management had warned us that the service would be spotty. We did not have a personal hotspot, but that would have solved that issue. Our favorite part was the sun porch with the swinging bed. A GREAT getaway!!

So white. So bright. So pristine. And so serene. So get to these hidden, Caribbean-like Gulf sands, already. And don’t forget those walking shoes either. That’s because this stretch of Florida all along Highway 30A, is tremendously ...pedestrian friendly. And most of InvitedHome’s properties are easily accessible to anywhere on the Emerald Coast. By foot. By bike. By pedicab or by trike. The unparalleled shoreline and unique villages are never far from reach no matter what mode of transportation you take. (see less)

Emerald Coast 30a Beaches
If you don’t know why the stretch of Scenic Highway 30A along the Florida Gulf is called the Emerald Coast, you certainly will upon arrival. That’s because the crisp green waters are impossible to miss, and the pristine, white sand is a gem in its ...own right. But while they may share the same sea, each beach community has it’s own distinct personality. Here are a few of the best Emerald Coast beaches to get up close and personal with… (see less)

Why You Should Explore Florida's Emerald Coast
November 11, 2016 As you ride through the region, specifically down Florida Scenic Highway 30-A, you’ll see signs for places like Rosemary Beach and Miramar Beach. All of those spots are a blast, but for this autumn weekend, set your GPS for Santa Rosa Beach. A ...laid-back, oh-don’t-mind-us sort of town in every good way possible, SRB makes great sense for a quick weekend jaunt because of its ideal location — Atlanta is only a five-hour drive while Pensacola International Airport offers non-stop flights from Chicago, Washington D.C. and other places — and two Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star properties, The Pearl Hotel and WaterColor Inn & Resort.

January 30, 2017 I’ve lived in Florida as a kid and adult, and now that I’m a Georgia resident I can’t resist returning at least once a year. The trips have broadened beyond Daytona Beach, where I grew up, and Walt Disney World, where I often ...visited with my parents when rides required tickets, not $100-plus admission and Fast Passes. Top 10 Things to Do While Visiting 30A!
November 21, 2016 Scenic Highway 30-A is a 28.5 mile highway that hugs the Gulf of Mexico coastline in Northwest Florida’s Walton County. It connects 15 beach communities in South Walton. For the locals, it’s more than just a road – it’s a way ...of life. Scenic Highway 30-A is a tourist attraction of major proportions. It is an exciting and eclectic mix of hot Caribbean colors and soft pastels, with architecture to match each community’s charm, whether it be Old Florida’s traditional 2-3 story homes, or the cottages of Seaside with white picket fences and pedestrian pathways to New Urbanism, or its miles of greenway trails connecting state parks, preserves and residential areas.
