Uber Expands to Colorado Mountain Towns
Uber, the popular ride-sharing service, which has operated in Colorado’s larger cities since 2013, has recently expanded Learn More. into the counties that include the state’s most beloved ski resorts. Powderhounds in Breckenridge, ...Keystone, Copper Mountain, Vail, Aspen/Snowmass and Steamboat Springs can now use their Uber app to hail a driver to whisk them to and from the slopes, a cozy apres ski venue or to safely enjoy the area’s nightlife. Uber is an excellent choice for people who take a shuttle from the airport to their resort town and would like an easy way to get around, as well as for people who don’t like driving in snow and ice, or at night. Mountain town drivers live in the area and know how to get from point A to point B without any trouble. (see less)

Telluride: Southwestern Colorado's Modern Playground
November 11, 2016 Many resorts brag about how their town is a state of mind, not a place; Telluride seems to have taken that concept to heart. By want of its location, it really couldn’t be any other way. It’s certainly one of the most remote among ...Colorado’s major ski resorts, located in the state’s southwestern corner 65 miles from Montrose, the nearest major airport with commercial service (although limited flights into Telluride’s own lofty airstrip will resume this winter). It’s well over 300 miles from Denver. The town itself is located in a box canyon, a narrow cul-de-sac with a flat valley floor and thousand-foot high walls on three sides. Bridal Veil Falls – a scenic attraction in summer and one of the nation’s most difficult multi-pitch ice climbs in winter – is at the head of the valley. Free cross-country ski trails traverse the valley floor, making a pleasant alternative to downhill skiing for an afternoon. (see less)
Comment Telluride is a wealthy town, but a very humble one as well. How can you not be, when you're surrounded by breathtaking, massive mountain ranges on all ...sides? (see less)

36 Hours in Telluride, Colorado
October 28, 2016 There are steeper ski resorts than Telluride. There are ski resorts that get more snow. But few places are more friendly and prettier than this town at the end of a box canyon in the tall San Juan Mountains, a place so cinematic that Quentin ...Tarantino was here last winter filming his forthcoming western, “The Hateful Eight.” Beauty and great skiing keep pulling the money here, and that keeps refreshing the scene. But it’s the people who make this place interesting — a quirky stew of Patagonia-clad men who look as if they came straight from base camp; flushed women direct from their 10-mile runs; still others reciting poetry in bordello-wear at a Colorado Avenue bar; and gray-ponytailed hippies who play “Sugar Magnolia” so often you’d think Jerry Garcia never went to that great jam fest in the sky. Telluride isn’t just a ski area; it’s a way of life. (see less)
Comment This is an amazing short re-cap of what Telluride has to offer.  But let me say after a few hours you'll realize you want a few more days or weeks in the is incredibly gorgeous mountain oasis. From outdoor sports to amazing dining and ...nightlife Telluride really is a hidden gem.  (see less)

The Funny Thing about February
February 14, 2017 They say laughter is the best medicine, and if that’s true, then you’re in for a heavy dose this month in Telluride. On Feb. 16-19, Telluride Comedy Fest will host some of the top comedians in the world for a weekend of improv, stand-up, ...and skits at the Sheridan Opera House, and on Feb. 24, Comedy Central’s Daniel Tosh (of Tosh.0) and his crew will perform a one-night show at the Palm Theatre. Comment Of course Telluride would be the place to host a comedy festival of such renown. That's the great thing about Telluride — no matter what you like, at some point during the year it will offer you an event that perfectly correlates with your ...interests! (see less)
