The real test is simple: can you ski from the door to a lift in the morning, and ski from a run back to the door in the afternoon? Many homes are ski-out but not ski-in. You glide down easily at nine, then ride a lift or climb a short path home at four. That uphill walk in ski boots at the end of the day is the thing guests remember. We confirm both directions for every home before we call it ski-in/ski-out.

What does ski-in/ski-out mean?
It means you can ski directly from your home to the slope or lift and back, with no drive or shuttle. The home is adjacent to a ski run. Read what ski-in/ski-out really means.
Is ski-in/ski-out the same as slopeside?
Not always. ski-in/ski-out and slope-adjacent often mean a short walk to the lift. True ski-in/ski-out access means no walking in ski gear in either direction.
How do I know if a home is truly ski-in/ski-out?
Ask two questions: can you ski from the door to a lift, and ski from a run back to the door? A yes to both is the standard. We confirm both before we list a home as ski-in/ski-out.
Is ski-in/ski-out worth the extra cost?
For most skiers, yes. It adds an hour or more of skiing a day, removes the shuttle and the boot walk, and makes a group with different schedules far easier to manage. The premium is real, and so is the time it gives back.
Is ski-in/ski-out good for families?
It is the easiest setup for families. Kids can ski home for lunch or a nap, ski-school meeting points are close, and parents can run different plans without coordinating rides. For larger family groups, see our large-group rentals.
Which destinations have the best ski-in/ski-out?
Deer Valley, Beaver Creek, Telluride's Mountain Village, and Park City offer some of the most direct ski-in/ski-out access anywhere. In each, homes sit right along the runs, with lifts within easy reach and full resort service close at hand. Your advisor can help you choose among them based on your dates and who is traveling with you.
How far in advance should I book for the holidays?
Six to twelve months is recommended for Christmas, New Year, Presidents week, and spring break. Ski-in/ski-out is our specialty, so there are plenty of choices across our collection, but these are also the most requested weeks of the year. Reaching out early gives you the widest selection of homes and dates, and a dedicated advisor to help you compare them.
Do these homes include ski storage and a valet?
This varies house to house. Many of our larger homes have a dedicated ski room with lockers and boot dryers, so gear stays organized and your boots are dry and ready each morning. A ski valet is a separate service, usually offered by the resort itself or by condo residences, where you leave your skis slopeside at the end of the day and collect them the next. The property listing and your advisor will tell you exactly what a given home includes, and whether valet service is available at that mountain.
