At InvitedHome, we have a saying: vacations are essential to the soul. And there might not be a better example of that philosophy than this peace-inducing, 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom log and stone residence in Telluride. The home may be just a short distance to the ski and hiking trails in Mountain Village, but you’ll feel continents away from your stresses on this Eastern-inspired estate. Because at East Meets West, you’re in for a study in a whole new state of mind.

Your journey to serenity begins in the surrounding scenic woods and 13,000-foot peaks. And with floor-to-ceiling windows framing your outdoor views, you’ll always be able to sneak a peek. Simply open the 400-year old temple gates at the end of the winding walkway through your lush Japanese gardens, complete with beautiful white gravel and ancient Scholar’s Rocks. Once inside, a feeling of calm will come over you as you survey the tranquility of this Telluride retreat.

The log cabin-inspired, interior design welcomes you with its soaring ceilings. The large stone fireplace invites you to cozy up after a long day on the slopes. The rustic dining area just off the spacious kitchen will prompt a heartfelt saying of grace before your family digs into their next delicious meal. Take to the den if your idea of zen involves reading a good book or watching your favorite movie. Or just sit quietly and meditate in any one of the thought-reflecting areas that seem designated solely for quiet reflection.

And because you’re in Telluride, we’re certain you’ll want to have moments being at one with nature. Just head out back to experience a yard that will truly seem out of this world. The covered decks and porches will then lead you to a short bridge and beautifully-crafted traditional pagoda. And while that area is ideally suited for yoga, reading, intimate dining or meditative contemplation, at East Meets West, you are the one who ultimately decides what to do with your time and specific state of mind.

Telluride Film Festival
The Telluride Film Festival (TFF) made its debut amidst the majestic San Juan Mountains in 1973. Telluride had always been a scene for cinematic legends, harking back to the days when such stars as Houdini, the Marx Brothers, and Sarah Bernhardt ...journeyed to Telluride to entertain miners in the Sheridan Opera House. Today, that very same Sheridan Opera House is still one of three formal venues of the TFF (the others include Chuck Jones’ Cinema and the Werner Herzog Theater). And the stars that flock to this Telluride festival have only gotten progressively bigger. (see less)
