What are you in the mood for today? Well, when you stay at In-Town Sophisticate at Element 52, everything will be just a few pleasant footsteps away. In addition to being under a five-minute stroll to the town of Telluride’s vibrant restaurants, bars, music venues and art galleries, this two-bed, two ensuite-bath unit has every amenity you could ask for, including on-site ski rentals and a private lift called the funicular. What's that you say? It’s a small, old-timey, mountain cog rail that can transport you to an adjacent ski trail, the Gondola and a separate town lift. It will also drop you off at two communal hot tubs that will certainly soothe the soul after a long day on the slopes, or after a summertime hike or bike ride. And don’t forget to take advantage of the on-site ski valet and your own ample storage locker before you head to the brand new, on-site club room called The Te-Bar. Got the kids with you? Not a problem. Just stop to make some S’mores at the outdoor firepit. The reality is, choices here can accommodate every age and après-ski mood.

Once you’re back at your unit, you’ll quickly notice that this in-town dwelling combines elements of rustic Telluride with all the modern marvels of contemporary living. The inviting, open-plan living space offers plenty of room to relax in front of the roaring fire. Make everyone drinks and appetizers in your modern kitchen, complete with high-end appliances and a six-burner stove. Once you have properly whet your appetite, maybe play some cards or watch a movie in the living room, enjoying it all from the comfort of the sleeper sofa or plush side chairs.

Then, when it’s time to say goodnight, you can retire to one of two large bedrooms, both of which come equipped with plenty of seating, en-suite bathrooms and their own large flatscreen TVs. The guest bedroom offers two twin beds, which can even be joined to make a king if so you choose. In the California king-sized master, you’ll also enjoy a large soaking tub, an ample walk-in shower and double sinks. Then in the morning, hit the expansive, on-site gym before picking up your skis and heated boots from the ski valet. Or trying something altogether different, like the on-site spa or a light lunch in town. Because what you do when you stay here, will always be entirely up to your current mood. And at In-Town Sophisticate at Element 52, it’s certain to be a good one.

Amazing Ski-In/Ski-Out Condo in Old Town

This was the ideal ski vacation property for our family of four. In a small but luxurious compound at the base of Telluride mountain right in the beautiful original mining town, our favorite place to stay. Private ski lounge for rentals and overnight storage is right there. Great hot tubs and fitness facility with 24 hour access. Heated driveways and common areas so there's no ice or snow to navigate when getting to our skis or going for a soak. Secure underground parking. We valeted, but I think you can self park too. Around the corner from the main grocery store, a perfect little wine and liquor shop and the best Thai restaurant in the mountains. Also, just a short 5 minute walk to the center of town and all the shopping and other restaurants. We either took the private funicular to start our ski day right on the mountain or enjoyed the path along the beautiful river to begin on the gondola and go straight up to Mountain Village. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and spacious. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cooking gear we needed and lots of stemware. There is an awesome fireplace to gather around and a comfortable deck off the living room and master bedroom with mountain views. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They took all our luggage up to the unit and offered to put our skis in the lounge. On a couple of occasions we also took advantage of their concierge chauffeur to drop us off or pick us up around town. Telluride is also beautiful in summer and this would be the perfect condo for a hiking, biking, rafting and fishing visit. Looking forward to return in any season.

Telluride Film Festival
The Telluride Film Festival (TFF) made its debut amidst the majestic San Juan Mountains in 1973. Telluride had always been a scene for cinematic legends, harking back to the days when such stars as Houdini, the Marx Brothers, and Sarah Bernhardt ...journeyed to Telluride to entertain miners in the Sheridan Opera House. Today, that very same Sheridan Opera House is still one of three formal venues of the TFF (the others include Chuck Jones’ Cinema and the Werner Herzog Theater). And the stars that flock to this Telluride festival have only gotten progressively bigger. (see less)

Teleski Presents Proposed Development Plan
November 21, 2016 Family-friendly mountain bike trails, an aerial adventure park and canopy tours are at the top of the list for projects planned at the Telluride Ski Resort in the coming years. These additions were just some of what was highlighted in the proposed ...master development plan that was presented by Jeff Proteau, vice president of mountain operations for the resort, and CEO Bill Jensen at Wednesday’s San Miguel County Commission meeting. The last time Telski released a master development plan was in 1999. Proteau said increasing summer offerings was high on the list of improvements. He pointed out the lack of mountain bike trails for different skill levels and said the plan would address that need. “A goal is to provide trails that are family oriented. We don’t really have any beginner trails up there,” he said. New trails also would be constructed as “flow trails” — a term used for trails constructed specifically for mountain biking, with added features that provide variety to the trail. The first location in Ridgway was opened almost three years ago and has gained a reputation amongst Telluride locals. (see less)
